Candlemass or Groundhog?

Candlemass or Groundhog?

The 2nd of February was the feast of Candlemass, otherwise known as Groundhog Day in America. Legend has it that if on that day an animal can see its own shadow then winter still has a long time to go, but if the day is gray and cloudy then winter is nearly over. There’s a traditional poem that goes like this:

If Candlemas day be sunny and bright,
Winter again will show its might.
If Candlemas day be cloudy and grey,
Winter soon will pass away.

Well cloudy and gray was what the weather was like here in Wales, and winter has most definitely not disappeared! It’s weather for wrapping up warm and making sure that your bed is the warmest and snuggliest it can possibly be.

Perhaps now is the right time to get that lovely winter weight organic wool duvet that you’ve been thinking about. There’s nothing worse than not being able to sleep properly because you’re feeling chilly beneath a duvet that’s too light. Match your new duvet with some of our gorgeous organic wool pillows. They are designed with a zip at one end so that you can remove the wool and wash the pillow, and of course you can add or subtract wool to make the pillow higher or lower. Like all wool products the duvet and pillows are perfectly breathable so you don’t overheat.
